This is an online event.

Madeline Linnell is a full-stack web developer in the Oxford Lifelong Learning web development team at the University of Oxford. Oxford Lifelong Learning offers more than 1,100 courses for adult learners.

In this talk, Madeline will share the story behind the recent website redesign. Although she is a web developer rather than a trained UX researcher, she led the user research, collaborated on AI-enabled prototyping, and helped shape the product roadmap through evidence-based design decisions.

Not every organisation has a dedicated user researcher. If you’ve ever wondered whether you could carry out user research yourself, or where to begin, this session will offer a practical and honest reflection on learning UX research by doing it.
