Ai x UX Mini Hackathon (Virtual)

Details

Join us for an intensive 2-hour virtual hackathon that brings together the exciting worlds of artificial intelligence and user experience design.

This event is designed for people who want to practice their AI skill in UX context, but for one reason or another (i.e. not allowed by the company they work for or need a structure) need an opportunity.

## What to Expect:
The event kicks off with introductions and networking, followed by team formation . Once teams are assembled, you'll dive into the main challenge: designing and prototyping an AI-powered user experience solution to address the challenge provided by the host.

Building (~60 min). Teams have complete creative freedom to use any prototyping tools they prefer, including Lovable, Magic Pattern, Claude, or other platforms of their choice. The focus is on rapid ideation and execution, bringing your concepts to life within the time constraints.

Usability Testing (~30 min). A key component of the hackathon involves real-world validation through usability testing using Userology, ensuring your prototypes aren't just innovative but genuinely user-centered. This adds a crucial research dimension to the typical hackathon format.

Presentation (~20 min). The event concludes with team presentations where you'll demonstrate your prototypes and share insights from your usability testing. Winners will be announced based on the criteria below, celebrating solutions that truly embody the future of human-AI collaboration.

## Mentorship & Support:
Throughout the building phase, mentorship will be available to guide teams through technical challenges, design decisions, and strategic thinking. Whether you need help refining your concept or overcoming implementation hurdles, support is just a breakout room away.

## Judging Criteria:
Teams will be evaluated on three core dimensions that reflect best practices in AI-integrated design:

  • Human-Centered Design Integration: How effectively does the solution incorporate design thinking principles? Does it demonstrate deep empathy for user needs, validate assumptions through testing, and solve real human problems rather than showcasing technology for its own sake?
  • AI-Native Innovation: How ingeniously is AI woven into the core experience? We're looking for solutions where AI feels fundamental to the user journey—not bolted on as an afterthought, but seamlessly integrated as an essential component that enhances human capabilities.
  • Execution & User Validation: Quality of prototype development and insights gained from usability testing, demonstrating both technical execution and evidence-based design decisions.
