Our essentials lesson will dive into a different area of Figma each week to give you the basics you need to start being able to use Figma confidently. These sessions are designed for those new to Figma, and who want to get a good basis in the foundations of this industry-leading software for user interface design.
What should you expect during an Essentials class?
The essentials class takes place every Sunday and each week we will focus on a different area of Figma. For example, one week we might focus on prototyping a simple wireframe, or another week on getting started with auto layout.
Your instructor will demonstrate all the steps involved in putting together a design, then there will be practical time for students to practice themselves and ask any questions they have. At the end of the session we will share our work, cover any areas people are still of an make the most of the collaborative nature of designing in Figma.
Who Should Enrol: This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to dive into the world of digital design, including aspiring UX designers or people in adjacent areas who might want to get more knowledge, such as: product managers or marketers, graphic/brand designers, software engineers, entrepreneurs, or anyone interested in creating beautiful and functional digital designs.
Takeaway: By the end of this workshop, you'll have a solid foundation in an area of Figma, gained confidence and experience amongst a friendly group of designers. You are also welcome to join the community afterwards where we will continue any discussion or share any resources that came up in the class.
About the instructor: George Longwill is a Senior Product Designer at Prezi and ex-Intercom. He has 10+ years of UX design experience and has worked primarily at SaaS companies on solutions that have impacted millions of users. George is a passionate Figma user and is dedicated to sharing his knowledge to empower others in the design community.
