[🌐 Remote] The Checkout Experience: Delights and Deceptions in Retail UX

Checkout in retail is more than just a transaction - it's a defining moment that can transform a simple purchase into an enjoyable experience. However, the line between delightful and deceptive design is thin and full of complexity. In our June Meetup, we will explore both facets and create a space for innovation without using tricks or deceptive patterns.

How can spending more money be fun and how can even printing receipts become an engaging experience? In our opening talk, Florian Lackner (UX Designer at shopreme) will be sharing his insights on the unique challenges and opportunities of today's retail checkout experiences. Along the way, he'll be highlighting the differences and parallels between physical and digital checkouts, specifically in terms of behavioral patterns and capturing benchmarking data. Before closing out the meetup with social mingeling, we invite you to join an open discussion (or maybe a lean coffee) where we are going to talk about deceptive patterns in eCommerce and how to spot or avoid them.
