Special Edition UX Book Club: Creative Clarity
We know one week out of one month a year of major UX festivities won't be enough for smart cookies like you. When all is said and done, and you're still mulling over Jon Kolko's keynote two months later, you can come along to UX book club on 11 October to talk about his latest book, Creative Clarity. :) This brief but powerful guide helps you articulate what creativity means, and then navigate bringing that creative thinking into your business, even if (especially if!) you feel it is too chaotic or unprepared for such a thing. In fact, in "a creative environment, chaos is the backdrop for hidden wonderment and success." You can read more about the book and purchase it here: DO I NEED TO READ THE BOOK? Yes, our discussions will be about the book and the topics and ideas that it includes. So we ask that you come to book club having read some or all of the book and be ready to discuss its topics and ideas. GIVE THE SUMMARY Would you like to give a brief summary of the book at the start of book club? Contact us before Wednesday, 15 August if you’re interested! What we're about

UX Melbourne is an informal community of 3000+ Melbourne-based UX professionals. It has grown organically to encourage all people interested in user experience to get together, share ideas, support each other and have fun.

Under the broader UX banner we are interested in the wide range of related skills and disciplines, including user experience design, interaction design, service design, customer experience, accessability, usability, content strategy, visual design, user research, etc.

If you live around Melbourne and have an interest in user experience we’d love to have you involved.

We meet each month or two for regular social and educational events including the UX book club ( and UX movie night (, and also have other events throughout the year - such as social gatherings or special events with visiting experts like Jeff Gothelf, Christopher Noessel, Karen McGrane, Paul Dourish, and Todd Zaki Warfel, to name a few.

Because an hour or so after each event is not enough, we have created a local discussion group for UX Melbourne people to continue the discussion between events. You can sign up to our shared discussion list (, or just the email announcements (
