UX Breakfast in Aug - Information Architecture

Details

Hello UX Pittsburgh and Beyond,

Summer is ending, so let's get back to basics and dive into the practice of information architecture (IA). What is IA - a concept or a job title? Who creates an IA and how? What are common tools IA's use? Do we even need IA when there's AI?

Join us Tuesday August 29, 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM ET via Zoom.

Timing is casual (arrive and leave when it's convenient).
As always, you pick your menu. :)

NOTE: Pre-registration is required in order to access Zoom information.

These conversations are free flowing - please bring other topics you'd like to discuss. We welcome discussions about UX research (ethnography, interviews, diary studies, usability testing), product design, accessibility, prototyping, AI/robots, working in UX and managing teams.

We're looking forward to seeing you all!
Carol & Tanisha

Everyone is welcomed to join us and chat about anything UX related. This is a laid-back get together to socialize and share stories.

Conduct:
Be kind and respectful.
Enthusiastic conversation and disagreement is welcomed!
If you've already spoken, make space for others to speak.
You do not have to show your video. However, if your video is off we'll assume you are not available for conversation unless you note otherwise.
Take turns talking and try to indicate when you want to talk by using the raise-hand feature in Zoom.

UX Breakfast is dedicated to a harassment-free experience for everyone. Our anti-harassment policy mirrors the Geek Feminism Community Code of Conduct: https://geekfeminismdotorg.wordpress.com/about/code-of-conduct/
Contact the hosts via direct message/chat to report issues.
Participants who are asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately or be removed from the meeting and reported to Zoom.

Zoom Guidance:
Go to zoom.us/test to test your system. Click on “Join” and an app will be installed quickly. You will also be able to test your audio/video.
Please use headphones or earbuds when you connect in order to avoid feedback loops.
Mute your microphone when you aren’t talking.
If connections are problematic we may ask everyone to turn off their video when we aren’t talking to save bandwidth.
