UX Psychology – far more than just research and cognitive biases!
When you hear about UX Psychology the first thing that probably comes to your mind is research, cognitive biases and some layout issues!
And yes, they are important. But they are really just the peak of the iceberg of what Psychology can provide for better UX.
(sorry for wearing out the iceberg metaphor, but it works so well…)
In this talk I will give you a sense of what else there is and provide lots of examples – all based on scientific insights.
Curious? Here is a short example of what you can expect: People will come up with other ideas, solutions and stories depending on the height of the ceiling of the room that they are in!
Short Bio
Verena has been working as a Psychologist in Usability and UX for almost 30 years, supporting approx. 300 organizations all around the globe. Her passion was always the intersection between people and technologies. She is experienced in various industries and businesses, ranging from safety critical areas such as air traffic management, medical systems or heavy industries), over finance and e-commerce to e-learning, to name a few. Applying psychological knowhow to system improvements and developments, to organizational UX strategic alignments or human-caused-error trouble handling are her favorite activities.
Verena has invented the uxpsychologylens® toolset, that allows people without psychological background to apply basic psychology to UX activities. She has written 2 UX Books, (her UX Psychology Book will be published End of 2022). Verena is also Chief Science Officer and Trainer of the Canadian Company Usability Mapping Inc, that applies Psychology to documentations, Vice president of the UXPA Austria, UXQCC Board Member and Master Trainer and teaches courses at universities.
