What we’re about
A group of volunteers in Vienna, Austria, Europe run 4 User Experience (UX) events every month:
- UX Vienna Research Melánge: A casual get-together of folks immersed in user research.
- UX Vienna Mornings: A casual breakfast meetup every 1st Friday of the month.
- UX Vienna Book Club: Swap your pixels for dots per inch and join us! We get together at 7pm and talk about a book.
- UX Vienna Evening Meetup: Talks, discussions, and networking at 7pm every 2nd Tuesday of the month.
We are also available on Discord: https://discord.gg/zjkWBFUCRE
Our topics are UX design, user research and building delightful digital products. Our aim is to create a place where you can meet others with similar interests, chat with them, and teach or be taught by them. All experience levels are welcome.
Thank you for joining this group and we hope to see you at one of our events soon!

UX Vienna Evening Meetups are on the 2nd tuesday of every month — 12 times a year. This time we meet at BarnVentures at Alpenmilchzentrale and we have two very interesting talks:
Spot the Deceptive Pattern
by Alicia Holla, Product Designer @ Innovatrics
This talk dives into the world of dark patterns—sneaky design tricks used to mislead users. After a quick intro, get ready for an interactive session with real examples to spot. It’s a chance to sharpen your design instincts and rethink how we approach ethical design.🕶️Navigating the Unseen Web: Accessibility Demo with Live Reactions
by Paweł Masarczyk, Accessibility and Experience Expert @ WIENFLUSS information.design.solutions KG
In this talk, Paweł Masarczyk demonstrates the significance of digital accessibility and universal design in an unexpected twist – by dealing with whatever is thrown at him and testing web experiences proposed by the audience. In this 30-minute presentation, you can hear your favorite services, projects you are working on or have committed to experienced from the perspective of a screen reader user. Paweł will also share his personal insights about using the web as a person who was born blind.
Together, we will take a look at some basic screen reader accessibility principles and how they correlate to the upcoming EU legislation in this regard and the humane act of designing interfaces that are functional for every user, regardless of their accessibility needs.Location

The gold release - we are 50!
At this celebratory edition of the UX Vienna Book Club, we are going to...
1. Have a chat about the (very) short and insightful book "Mixed Methods" by Sam Ladner. We'll talk about "how to effectively mix methods and data sets, and how to help stakeholders become more sophisticated customers of good research." (more info about the book can be found here)
2. Celebrate that we've reached the 50th book club!
How the book club works:
Reading the book is not mandatory. Many participants use the book club to decide whether to read the book 😎. We'll make sure everyone can contribute - if you want to familiarise yourself with the book's topic and don't have enough time to read, maybe check out a podcast with the author, like this one.
The book club will be in person, in Vienna, and in English 😊 - UX Vienna Evening MeetupOrt wird noch bekanntgegeben, Vienna
