A group of volunteers in Vienna, Austria, Europe run 4 User Experience (UX) events every month:

UX Vienna Research Melánge: A casual get-together of folks immersed in user research.
UX Vienna Mornings: A casual breakfast meetup every 1st Friday of the month.
UX Vienna Book Club: Swap your pixels for dots per inch and join us! We get together at 7pm and talk about a book.
UX Vienna Evening Meetup: Talks, discussions, and networking at 7pm every 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Our topics are UX design, user research and building delightful digital products. Our aim is to create a place where you can meet others with similar interests, chat with them, and teach or be taught by them. All experience levels are welcome.

Hello dear researchers and UX colleagues,

For the first time as a part of the UX Vienna network, we are excited to invite you to the 7th Melánge. We’re kicking off a brand-new series, on an exciting and often-overlooked space: Knowledge Management 📚.

As UX researchers, we’re at the heart of what a company knows—after all, research is essentially how any organization learns (shoutout to Kate Towsey who summed this up perfectly). So what if we should be ones of those, guiding how knowledge is managed, shared, and reused?

Let’s gather for Episode 1 of this series to dig into big questions around how we, as UXRs, can define and shape knowledge management. In this first session, we’ll figure out what this topic really means for us:

🔍 What is the relationship between UX research and knowledge management, and how can we define it in our work?

📂 How can we ensure that UX research knowledge is accessible and reusable for future projects and researchers?

💡 What types of knowledge do we generate as UX researchers, and how can it be effectively managed?

⚡ What challenges are we facing in managing and sharing UX research knowledge across different teams or organizations?

🛠️ What tools (repositories, communication channels, etc.) and methods are we currently using for knowledge management in UX research, and where are the gaps or opportunities for improvement?

🤝 How can we collaborate with others to develop a framework for managing, storing, and sharing UX research knowledge more effectively?

🧠💬 During our 2-hour session, we’ll decide which of these juicy questions to tackle and dive deep into them together. You’ll have space to brainstorm and to start figuring out how UX research fits into the larger knowledge management puzzle.

No prior knowledge management expertise needed—just bring your curiosity and your ideas!

Be ready to order a beverage or two, to support the beautiful space re:kompany, where we'll meet.

If possible, be on time, we start 18:15 the latest.
