UX Vienna Evening Meetups are on the 2nd tuesday of every month — 12 times a year. This time we meet at EBCONT with two very interesting talks.

UX/UI Design is B#llsht
Why AI doesn’t solve the UX/UI problem but finally makes it visible
Mitch Loewenherz | Freelance Digital Experience Designer
Despite years of experience, many UI designers receive rejections because they supposedly don’t quite fit the profile. At the same time, job postings often ask for everything at once: research, wireframes, UI, accessibility, product thinking, technical skills, and AI.
What is actually expected of designers today? Is it enough to know how to use the right tools, or is it more about understanding problems, making good decisions, and knowing how to make sense of new technologies?
This talk is a plea for clearly defined job titles, understandable requirements, and more differentiation between UX, UI, and the additional changes AI is bringing into the field.

Every Morning I Forget You: a designer builds a product with AI, told by the AI
Matthias Grieder, Head of Design at EBCONT
Last year at UX Vienna, Matthias Grieder asked whether Steve Jobs would use AI today. This year he answers with a real product. Over the last months he built Picspace, a photo-delivery platform for photographers, with an AI agent that co-wrote 89% of the code.
The talk is a live dialogue between Matthias and the AI, which speaks for itself on stage. Together they walk through what product design with AI really looks like: an agent that invents a new word for every screen, copies that quietly drift apart, confidence that passes 671 tests and is still wrong, and a collaborator who forgets everything overnight. And then the uncomfortable part for designers: when changing a solution costs an afternoon instead of a sprint, defending your design is just ego.
It's a honest, probably funny look at why taste, principles and a well-written brief matter more than ever, and why this is the time for designers to build.
