Abstract:
2025 marks a pivotal year for institutional adoption of digital assets and blockchain technology. In this talk, Andri C. Gmünder provides insights into the motivation, strategy, and implementation behind Zürcher Kantonalbank’s digital asset initiatives. As Switzerland’s second-largest bank, ZKB offers a unique vantage point on how established financial institutions approach this evolving domain. The lecture will highlight key challenges encountered along the adoption journey and concludes with an outlook on how the digital asset landscape could possibly develop in the coming years.
Author Bio:
Andri is a senior digital asset expert at Zürcher Kantonalbank, Switzerland’s second-largest bank. He is responsible for the bank’s digital asset custody solution and drives the implementation of various strategic digital asset capabilities. Andri holds a master’s in digital business management and multiple industry certifications like the Chartered Blockchain Analyst (CBA) and Chartered Digital Asset Analyst (CDAA).
