UPDATED: Eddington (2025) directed by Ari Aster @ Regal Macarthur Center

Details
UPDATE: Putting this at Regal Macarthur Center at the 6:10pm showing!
The latest from the director of Hereditary, Midsommar, and Beau is Afraid. Pretty stacked cast! (The critics seem to find it a pretty polarizing and intense movie, which is about normal for Ari Aster.)
RUNTIME: 145 minutes
SYNOPSIS: In May of 2020, a standoff between a small-town sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) and mayor (Pedro Pascal) sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor in Eddington, New Mexico.
BLURBS:
"Ari Aster transforms everyday American insanity into one of the most artistically complete and compulsively watchable doom-scrolls of the year." - Tomris Laffly, Elle
"This is Aster’s funniest film to date, and makes use of an ever expanding and shifting cast to dot the 150-minute runtime with well-observed comic details and visual payoffs." - Sophie Monks Kaufman, Independent (UK)
"There’s an indulgent side to Ari Aster, and though it’s more under control here, you can feel him giving him into it. Yet it’s also inseparable from what makes him, in Eddington, such a stimulating filmmaker." - Owen Gleiberman, Variety
"It’s not just about the divisiveness of 2020; it’s designed to be divisive itself in 2025. To that end, even if you hate it, it’s kind of done its job." - Brian Tallerico, *RogertEbert.com*
