Photo Walk: RAD Pics & Pints (Theme = B&W)
Details
It's been a while since we did a "Pics & Pints" event, and with so many new VPW MeetUp members, now is a better time than any to get together socially (and creatively), and officially kick off Year #10 of this MeetUp group.
In the past, the Asheville River Arts District events have always been popular, and they offer a huge variety of content and color. So, we're going to turn all of that color on its head, and desaturate it to grayscale. In other words, the challenge will be to see a very colorful area in "black-and-white".
Of course, we'll also make time to have a pint or two! In fact, we'll kick things off that way. The official start time for the event is 5:30pm, but feel free to start gathering at 5pm if you have time in your schedule.
This will be a fun event, open to all skill levels and camera types (as usual). B&W conversions can be done by the app of your choice, whether you are using a PC/Mac (e.g., Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop software), or your phone (there are many apps that can do this conversion).
VPW LOYALTY CARD: The cards will be distributed at the beginning of the event if you don't have one already (but bring the one you have if you do!), but they will not be "punched" until we reconvene about half-way through to quench our thirst a bit more.
NOTE: Yes, I am aware that we've been to this part of the RAD before, but it's been a few months, and we have a new theme to work with. I wanted to pick a place where we can hang outside, have plenty of room to wander, and then have a pint or two. And, parking is easy and plentiful. I know that this part of the RAD has always presented countless creative opportunities for our photo walks (and, it is constantly evolving in its aesthetic, so we're guaranteed to find some new nooks, crannies, and subject matter).
