The adoption of Prometheus is increasing every year, and every day, a multitude of individuals
and companies are transitioning from traditional monitoring solutions to Prometheus. If you're
beginning your journey with Prometheus but are unsure about where metrics originate, what an
exporter is, or how to construct basic Prometheus queries, this talk is tailored for you.
In this presentation, we'll highlight Promcat.io, an open-source project offering a catalog of
meticulously curated Prometheus configurations, exporters, dashboards, and alerts for a range
of applications. Your task is to simply find the application you're keen to monitor and adhere to
the guide provided. To demonstrate this, we'll explore a real-world example (monitoring Nginx
with the Nginx exporter) during a live demo. This will offer a clear, step-by-step roadmap to
establishing your initial Prometheus monitoring integrations with ease.
