About us

This Meetup group is for those who enjoy riding Side-by-Sides (UTV's) in the desert and mountains of Southern California.

This meetup will host both day trips and multi-day camping and riding trips. We also host occasional rides in Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. Rides are rated as intermediate with some upper intermediate sections. We are all about enjoying the BLM and Forest Service trails. We don't ride especially fast, and we stay on open trails.

So, if you enjoy the beauty of our great country and want to see areas that cannot be accessed from the highway, join us for a future ride. We are a family friendly group, so kids and dogs are welcome. Members are welcome from all of Southern California. Arizona Peace Trail - Lake Havasu - Oatman

We will be staying in the Campbell Cove RV Park near Lake Havasu City. If sold out, there are other options nearby.

We will follow the Central & Northern sections of the Arizona Peace Trail, hitting many of the best destinations.

I have created tracks to Oatman to visit the burros, Hualapai Mountains, Maggie Wash, Alamo Lakee, The Bunker Bar, and The Desert Bar.

Our ride over to Alamo Lake is the longest but I checked and there is gas at Wayside Oasis RV Park near the lake. They also have food and a bar. Anyone interested in eating there should let me know so I can call them and make sure they have enough food for us.

We will need to ride on some paved roads leaving the RV Park. In addition to the Arizona Non-Resident OHV Sticker, you can get a Non-Resident On-Highway 30-day permit at a ADOT location. They are only open mid-week. You must present your AZ Non-Resident OHV Permit and Safety Class Certificate.

We'll be camping at Ocotillo RV Resort.

If full-hookup camping isn't your thing, there is dispersed camping directly north of the RV park, across Highway 78.

I'll lead rides on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Friday: We'll head north across the Ocotillo Wells SVRA to the Truckhaven area, north of S22.

Saturday: We'll ride throughout the Ocotillo Wells SVRA and visit many of the area's most popular spots.

End of Year Potluck
After our Saturday ride we will have a potluck dinner at my spot. This is to celebrate our 2026 season and announce of 2027 rides. This is optional but it you want to participate, indicate what you will be bringing in the discussions section below.

Sunday: We'll ride south of S78 and explore the Superstition Mountain area.

These organizers are not professional guides or trained leaders and are not medically trained to handle emergencies. Please carry a personal medical emergency kit and any medications you need.
Motorized off-road driving/riding is an inherently dangerous activity that can lead to serious injuries including but not limited to slip and fall injuries, fractures, rattlesnake bites, heat exhaustion, poison oak, ticks and frostbite.
