I will be exploring the trails above Pahrump Nevada in the Mt. Charleston / Spring Mountain Recreation Area.

Because the temperature will be hot down in the desert, I will staying at an RV park so that I can run the air conditioner if needed without the generator. I have selected the Preferred RV Resort since they are close to the trails and have a Holiday Inn Express and Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino next door for those that don't have and RV or Trailer. You can park your SxS in a spot used by another Meetup member.

The rate at this RV park is $50/night plus 9% tax. If you sign up for Passport America, the rate will be $25/night plus 9% tax. The annual cost for Passport America is $44. If you use my referral code, you will get an extra 3 months added to your subscription. So, if you plan to stay at least two nights, you will save money by signing up for Passport America. They also have cabins and the Passport America discount applies to them as well.

The average summer temperature in the Mt. Charleston / Spring Mountain Recreation area is 75 degrees. Most trails once we enter the mountains are between 6,000 and 8,000 feet. I have posted some additional pictures to help understand the types of trails in this area.

I will get there on Tuesday the 13th and plan on doing some initial scouting on Wed & Thu with planned rides on Fri, Sat, and maybe Sun.

I have created a GPX file with many of the trails in this area. It also has waypoints and forest service roads. I have not yet created any routes but you can download it here if you are interested. This page also has the current Nye County Nevada OHV On Highway laws.
