Evening Paddle on Hopewell Lake

Details

Lazy, warm summer evenings are a wonderful time for being on the water, especially in a location as beautiful as French Creek State Park. Join DCNR naturalist Jared Brandt and Valley Forge Audubon Society for an evening paddle on Hopewell Lake as we look and listen for birds, beavers, and other wildlife in the evening twilight. In past years we’ve watched swooping nighthawks and bats and spotted freshwater jellyfish – what will we discover this time?

While there are a limited number of kayaks available through the state park, this is also a bring-your-own-watercraft event. Kayaks, canoes, rafts, and SUPs are all welcome. Please note that kayaks must be reserved in advance. For information and to reserve a kayak, please contact Jared Brandt at [jabrandt@pa.gov](http://mailto:jabrandt@pa.gov/) or (610) 582-9680.

The minimum age to participate is 10 years old.

Meet at the Hopewell Lake boat launch area near the park office at the address shown at 6:15 pm for a 6:30 pm start.
