Warblers and More at Gwynedd Preserve

Gwynedd Preserve is an oasis of nature nestled among the highly developed suburbs of Blue Bell and North Wales. A walk along the trails reveals a re-emerging ecosystem of native plants including warm-season grasses and wildflowers. At this time of year, we will be looking for resident birds and arriving spring migrants like warblers, orioles, swallows, and flycatchers. The fields are good habitat for sparrows. With the big sky and open fields, it’s also a great place for viewing raptors. This outing will be for 2 to 2.5 hours.

New birders are always welcome at VFAS programs. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Please bring binoculars if you have them. The leaders will have a pair to loan out.

Restrooms are available on site.

Note: PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE SMALL PARKING AREA AT THE ENTRANCE. NAT LANDS HAS REQUESTED THAT THESE BE RESERVED FOR REGULAR VISITORS. Because we will be a larger group, VFAS has been granted a larger parking area. Please drive down the entrance road and park up by the management center. If the ground is dry, you can park along the grass in front of the center. You can also park along the side of the building and double park in the space off to the left of the center. The preserve opens at 8 but they will have the gate open for us at 7:30 am.
