Join Valley Forge Audubon Society for a relaxing 8-mile group paddle on the Schuylkill River. We will float from Union Meadows Park down to our cars at Pottstown's Riverfront Park, spending about 4-5 hours on the water. Near the halfway point, at Ganshahawny Park, we will pause to enjoy a picnic, so please remember to pack a lunch. (There is also a portable restroom available there.) As we float along we will look for a wide variety of birds who are utilizing the river and its adjacent areas for feeding, breeding, and resting.
Whether you need to rent a boat or are bringing your own watercraft and just need a shuttle, our partners at Take It Outdoors have you covered. You can book your kayak rental or shuttle here: https://book.peek.com/s/a0558a25-b0c4-49c0-85b9-5f0729aa6da8/WjrDj
Please meet at Riverfront Park at 8:30 am for our shuttle upriver to our put-in location. Portable restrooms are available there. Don't forget to wear/bring sun protection, a sack lunch, plenty of water, and binoculars if you are comfortable taking them on the river with you.
