Mountainfilm on Tour in Beaver Creek will feature a collection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and engaging documentary short films that align with Mountainfilm’s mission to use the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. The evening will feature a diverse custom film list celebrating the human spirit across experiences, sectors, cultures, and time.

**Strike – Mary Rand” (Liam Gallagher) **
Follow snowboarder Mary Rand on a few strategic strike missions to some of the snowiest locales in the world. First was a couple weeks in Japan’s fabled Hakuba region for some of the deepest snow of the season. Then came a quick stint near Rand’s home in Washington for some boot packing around the Mount Baker backcountry. The final stop on the world tour was with Alaska Heliskiing to get on some of the legendary spine lines outside Haines. (USA, 2025, 3 min.)
**“First In, Last Out” (Keith Malloy) **
When competitive swimmer from Colorado Christa Funk joined the Coast Guard, she found herself stationed on Oahu, Hawaii for five years, where she discovered the world of surf photography. Inspired by the memory of her father and his parting words, Funk pushed herself into the world’s most dangerous and crowded surf lineups, becoming one of the best surf photographers in the world, and notably, one of the few women out there. Eliot Jackson has sneaky superpowers. You might know him for his commentary skills as one of the voices of RedBull TV’s mountain bike coverage or from his community-building and advocacy efforts with Grow Cycling. But not many people know him from one of his more underground claims to fame: Being one of the most badass riders to ever scrub-whip a mountain bike. (Canada, 2024, 2 min.)

Dago’s Boots is a glimpse into the world of a master cobbler. A third-generation tradesman originally from Honduras, Dago emigrated to the U.S. seeking opportunity and landed on Hollywood’s doorstep. For the last 35-plus years he’s focused his talent and imagination into custom footwear for clientele ranging from the biggest names in entertainment to everyday people. Join Walking Mountains Science Center for a unique backcountry experience under the light of the full moon!

Grouse Creek Trail
We will meet at the Grouse Creek Trailhead near Minturn. The trailhead is located off of US-24 across from the Meadow Mountain Business Park. The snowshoe up Grouse Creek is a moderate snowshoe that climbs above Minturn to a backcountry fire! The snow-covered open-meadow is stunningly bright under the full moon, and we rarely even need to take our headlamps on this night hike! After warming up at the fire we will trek out a little further to an old dilapidated cabin, before returning to the fire and snowshoeing back to our vehicles. The snowshoe generally takes 30 minutes on the way up and 20 minutes on the way down.

What to Bring:
Come prepared with a thermos or bottle for hot drinks, a pack for extra warm clothes, and a headlamp—although on most clear nights, the headlamp will stay in your pack as the moonlight is more than enough to light our way up the trail! Hot water-bottles can also be nice to have on particularly cold nights.
