China Dam, Tule Homestead

Join us for an epic Adventure on the China Dam Trail where scenic desert terrain meets a touch of history and just the right amount of challenge. Winding through sandy washes, rocky climbs, and rugged canyon walls, the trail rewards every driver with stunning views of Lake Pleasant and the remnants of an old stone dam built by Chinese laborers in the late 1800s.

It’s a perfect adventure for Jeeps of all builds. Those looking for more challenges, can enjoy the technical "playground" near the dam and test your articulation and your Jeep's ability to conquer mud! Pack your lunch, plenty of water, and your sense of Adventure!

The round-trip trail is 16 miles and should take approximately 4 hours to complete. I would rate this trail between 3 and 4. It is suitable for any stock Jeep with 4WD. There are a few steep and rocky sections traversing high ridges requiring careful tire placement, nothing that Jeeps can’t handle.

Please note that by popular request, we're switching to "winter" hours starting the run at 10:00 AM instead of the usual 9:00 AM!!!
