VJ Exclusive Saguoro Lake Cove Adventure

Come join fellow Valley Jeepsters for an unforgettable Adventure near the stunning Lake Saguaro through a challenging and scenic terrain. We will navigate a winding, rocky trail past iconic saguaro cacti and diverse desert flora and have lunch at Lake Saguaro Cove #1 that has been off-limits to most people since the fire of 2020. You won’t find this trail on any of the maps. It has been scouted and mapped exclusively by Valley Jeepsters. This event is a rare opportunity to explore the historic Salt River route from a perspective few ever see. We’ll enjoy our lunch while appreciating panoramic views of Lake Saguaro’s deep blue waters nestled among the dramatic golden-hour bluffs.

The trail is suitable for any stock Jeep with 4WD and offroad tires. There are a few steep sections traversing high ridges and hill climbs requiring careful tire placement, nothing that Jeeps can’t handle. I’m rating the trail level 3 to 4 on the difficulty scale. Prior off-roading experience is recommended but not required. If everything goes according to plan, we should be able to complete the trail in 4 hours or less.

As always, please arrive with a full tank of gas at the designated meeting spot and be ready for a prompt departure. If you’re running late, please let us know by posting or messaging in the Meetup App. If your plans change and you’re unable to attend, please promptly remove yourself from the event so that others on the standby list can take your place.

Effective Jan 1, 2025, Bulldog Canyon, Four Peaks, Rolls OHV, Desert Vista and St Clair areas now all require Tonto National Forest OHV Permit for each area.
