UC Davis Arboretum Walk

Details

If you have not visited the walkways along Putah Creek at UC Davis, suggest you sign up for this one - it's an amazing and impressive arboretum along the creek, with footbridges spanning the waterway. The paths are popular with cyclists, dog walkers, joggers and walkers. Total loop around arboretum on both sides of creek is around 4 1/4 miles. Wear comfortable walking shoes (paved & gravel surfaces) and bring water bottle.
For those who wish to stay for food afterwards, let's go to Ike's Sandwiches at 212 F. Street #B, Davis, not far from the college campus. They have loads of differing sandwiches including vegetarian & vegan.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Don't think any campus restrooms will be open. Suggest stopping at SHELL GAS STATION on way in (we drive right by it) at 1010 Olive Dr. Davis (corner of Richards Blvd) which has a market and restrooms.
MEET at Life's A Grind in Galt by 8:30 a.m. OR at U.C. Davis by 9:30a.m. We'll be parking on campus at lot on corner of OLD DAVIS RD. with ARBORETUM DR. (see directions below). On weekends, parking fees are not enforced and this is a visitor parking area.
NOTE: Suggest taking Richards Blvd. (exit #72B) off Hwy #80 into Davis, then left on First St., left again on Old Davis Rd. PARKING LOT is just a little way down from there, over the bridge on the left side.
