National Moth Week - July 17-25

Details
Participate in the 10th Annual National Moth Week
This time of year is a great time to find a large number of species of moths in our area, many literally come to your door attracted to the porchlight.
New England is home to many incredible and beautiful species that most people never notice. There are likely several thousand species in our area. Worldwide they are one of the most successful and biodiverse groups of organisms with hundreds of thousands of species.
National Moth Week is an annual citizen science event that gives people an opportunity to focus on the unique biodiversity of moths. You can register at the site or simply join us here.
I have expanded the inaturalist project Connecticut Valley Atlas of Life to include Three Massachusetts and three Connecticut Counties that the Connecticut River flows through. I encourage everyone to use the inaturalist app to record your moth sighting. The project site automatically aggregates all the sightings. I will post updates here.
