Hello GIS friends,

Join us for Oh, Mappy Day! on Friday, April 3, at UMass Amherst!

Oh, Mappy Day brings together people interested in maps, GIS, and geospatial work for an afternoon of short talks, creative maps, and a social gathering with the mapping community. The event is free and open to everyone.

Schedule of events:

  • 4:00 PM: Beyond Shapefiles: Teaching Reproducible Geospatial Workflows with FME and SQL with Sasha Stepanov
  • 4:30 PM: Silly Map Competition - submit your silliest map for a chance to win glory and honor!
  • 5:00 PM: Keynote Talk by Rachel Franklin (Executive Director, Center for Geographic Analysis, Harvard University)
  • 6:00–7:30 PM: Mappy Hour at the Commonwealth Restaurant

The afternoon events will be held in the Morrill Science Center at UMass Amherst (Room 225), and we'll meet at the Commonwealth Restaurant in Worcester Commons for Mappy Hour.

Please register for free to let us know you'll be attending, and then make sure to send us a silly map. We'll see you at Mappy Day!

Yours,
Sara and Becky
