Introduction to Accounting - Accounting the language of investing

Dear Members,

After receiving various requests from members to have a Meetup purely focused on accounting, I am glad to inform that on the 15th May I have prepared the lesson: "Introduction to Accounting". Please bear in mind that we will cover the subject of accounting from the very beginning, so if you are an expert investor probably this event is not for you.

Accounting is the language of investing, so it is essential to have a proper understanding of it if we want to improve as investors. This session will be full of numbers and exercises.

The two hours course will cover:

• Understanding the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss statement and statement of cash flows

*Further look into the Balance sheet: Assets, liabilities, and equity

*Recording transactions (Journal Entries)

*The role of accounting standards and accounting rules

The topic of accounting is vast, we will start from the very basics and building blocks, for beginners this is going to be a very important session.
