When will we see a bottom? In Drake's word
Started from the bottom, now we're here
Started from the bottom, now my whole team freakin' here
Started from the bottom, now we're here

Many have been quick to make predictions, trying to play expert. The reality is most of them will be dead wrong. It's impossible to predict a market bottom. The person that can manage their emotions will do better in the long run than the person with higher intelligence.

You're still missing the most important skill: controlling your emotions. When we get upset quickly, we make an irrational decision quickly because our innate brain teaches us to run immediately from danger.

With every negative headline, your emotions become less controllable and will force you to sell, when you should be doing the exact opposite - preparing to buy.

There are two ways to control it:

  1. Add capital regularly on the dips (Buy when the company is fundamentally the same, but has a cheaper Valuation)
  2. Avoid the News
  3. Do the top two, and in the long run you can’t lose

Here's Warren Buffett's & Charlie Munger, when asked during the '09 crisis how worried he was:
Charlie Munger: "Zero. This is the third time Warren and I have seen our holdings go down, top tick to bottom tick, by 50%. If you're not willing to react with equanimity to a market price decline of 50% two or three times a century you're not fit to be a common shareholder and you deserve the mediocre result you're going to get compared to the people who do have the temperament, who can be more philosophical about these market fluctuations."
