We have all heard that in Southern California you can ski and surf on the same day, but how about catching quality fresh and saltwater fish within the urban sprawl of Los Angeles? Listen up, destination anglers, as Lino Jubilado our July presenter will show us how to pull off what he calls “Strippin’ the Urbs.” Lino’s program will open the door to the many never thought of and often neglected local fisheries within easy driving distance, some of them close to downtown LA. We all know of carp in the LA River, now say hello to largemouth bass, tilapia and bluegill in lakes on your doorstep.
A NEW LOCATION FOR SPFF’S MONTHLY MEETING! In response to numerous requests, we've found a possible new venue for our monthly dinner mee9ngs. The Tuesday July 15th mee9ng will take place at BJ’s RESTAURANT in Woodland Hills, it’s on the east side of Canoga Ave., just south of Victory Blvd. There is ample parking and easy access from the 101 or surface streets. For the first 9me, we will offer a delicious buffet menu in our own private room. The room has its own large format projec9on screen and audio system with sea9ng for up to sixty guests. It even has access to a large pato for pre-meetng actvites and there’s a full service cocktail bar. Our buffet is featuring four deep dish pizza choices, an entree or pasta selecton, a salad and complimentary soft drinks, all for $27.50 including tax. Most important, there is a very uplifting atmosphere with a friendly, helpful staff. Please join us and bring your guests for a great evening in an exci9ng new locayon.
