Let's meet online at the above link to discuss the book "War and Peace with the Beasts: A History of Our Relationship with Animals" by Brian Griffith, published September 2020 by Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada's Wood Lake Publishing.

You don't have to live in Vancouver, or even in Canada, to participate. Last time I used Jitsi to videoconference, I didn't need to pay any money, I didn't need to download anything onto my harddrive, and I didn't need to go through a registration process.

From his Amazon.ca profile:
"[War and Peace with the Beasts] examines our arbitrary hatreds or friendships with diverse animal species, our wars of extermination against animals we hate, and the potential for a future of mutual benefit."

Brian Griffith is also the author of the 2001 book "The Garden of Their Dreams : Desertification and Culture in World History", about how the overgrazing of cattle by humans caused grasslands to turn into deserts thousands of years ago.
From his LinkedIn profile:
"Examines the history of environmental degradation across the Old World and it's cultural impact in human history. Links desertification to rises in violence, domination of women, and despotic rule. The book also shows how healing the environment has generally led to healthier, more peaceful cultures."

Brian Griffith was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, raised in Texas, USA, and returned to Canada as an adult, now living in the Toronto, Ontario area. He has a BA in History from the University of Alberta.
