Introduction
As we move deeper into the reflective pace of the season, we invite you to our next book club gathering, where we’ll be discussing The Stranger by Albert Camus—a stark and provocative exploration of absurdity, detachment, and the search for meaning in an indifferent world. It is about 150 pages.
Through the story of Meursault, Camus confronts us with unsettling questions about morality, social expectation, and emotional authenticity. At once spare, disturbing, and strangely lucid, The Stranger challenges conventional notions of justice and humanity. We look forward to an evening of thoughtful dialogue as we unpack Camus’s philosophy of the absurd, the novel’s emotional restraint, and its enduring relevance.
