Vancouver Bouldering and friends

This event exists to help people make friends.
Many of us want new connections but find traditional social events awkward, forced, or exhausting. This meetup is different. We use bouldering as a shared activity so meeting people feels natural, easy, and pressure-free.
Instead of climbing alone, we solve climbing problems together. We talk through ideas, encourage each other, laugh at failed attempts, and celebrate progress — not performance. The focus is collaboration, not competition.
You don’t need to be strong, experienced, or outgoing.
You don’t need to know anyone before coming.
If you’re new to climbing, you’ll be supported. If you’re experienced, you’ll help others.
Groups are kept small so conversations happen naturally. We rotate partners during the session, which makes it easy to meet multiple people without awkward introductions or small talk.
This is a welcoming space for people who:

• want to make genuine friends
• are new to the city or rebuilding a social circle
• enjoy movement and problem-solving
• prefer connection through shared experience rather than networking

Come once and you’ll meet people.
Come regularly and you’ll start building friendships.

If non-members of Progression Bouldering Gym:
Cost: $30 for a day pass(pay directly to the gym). Please note that climbing shoe rentals are not included and can be rented separately at the gym.

Arrival & Warm-Up
Guests arrive, get settled, warm up, and meet a few people casually. No rush — take your time.
Group Formation
We’ll break into small groups so it’s easy to connect. Quick name introductions, then we get started.
Climb & Solve Together
Each group works on bouldering problems together — sharing ideas, encouraging each other, and taking turns climbing. The focus is collaboration, not performance.
Open Climb & Social Time
After the structured portion, you’re free to climb, rest, or chat with people you’ve met. This is a relaxed, social part of the night.
Wrap-Up
We’ll close with a quick thank-you and share details about the next meetup. Feel free to exchange contact info and keep the connections going.
