Halloween Through Your Lens - Granville Photo Walk

Looking for something to do for Halloween that doesn’t involve going to a party? Bring your camera and join us for a relaxed evening photo walk along Granville Street.

Our theme: A Glimpse of Halloween on Granville
We’ll meet, introduce ourselves, and walk together, capturing whatever catches your eye (people, costumes, reflections, details, or unexpected moments).
Bring your own digital camera and a phone for uploading and voting. Beginners are welcome; no professional gear or photography experience needed.

Entry and cash prizes
Entry is CAD $10 per person, paid by e-Transfer to confirm your spot. Payment details will be shared after you RSVP. Your entry contributes to the cash prizes and helps cover organizing the event.

Cash prizes for the top three photos!
Prize amounts depend on the number of paid participants. With 10 participants, the prizes would be:
🥇 1st place: $40 CAD
🥈 2nd place: $30 CAD
🥉 3rd place: $10 CAD (your entry fee back)
Final amounts will be announced before the walk begins, and prizes will be paid in cash after voting.

How voting works
At the end, everyone submits one photo taken during the walk. We’ll browse an anonymous gallery and rank our three favourites without voting for our own. First, second, and third choices receive three, two, and one point.
Once voting closes, we’ll reveal the photographers and results, and hand out the cash prizes on the spot.

What to bring

• Your own digital camera, with a charged battery and space on your memory card.
• Your phone for uploading your photo and voting.
• Any cable or adapter you need to transfer photos.

I’ll bring a USB-C SD card reader that you can borrow to transfer your photo to a compatible phone. If your phone has a different connector or your camera uses another type of memory card, please bring the adapter you need.

A few simple guidelines

• Use your camera for photos; your phone is for uploading and voting.
• Submit one photo taken during the event.
• Let the image speak for itself (no written story required).
• Keep your submitted photo private until voting closes.
• Be considerate when photographing people and ask before taking posed portraits.

We’ll reserve the final 30 minutes for submissions, voting, and prizes. Afterwards, stay and chat or head home (it’s up to you).
