Don't miss this year's Scotfest (aka Highland Games) at Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam on June 21 all day. There's performance dancing and Ceilidh dancing in sessions from 11:00 on at the Scottish country dance plaza right by the front gate. There are Highland dance competitions, bagpipers and pipe bands galore competing and entertaining, There's whisky school, cultural workshops and many kids' activities. Very popular are the heavy events like caber tossing and hammer throw. The Big Tent stage features live Celtic music all day and dance displays take place at the stage under the canopy. There are lots of food trucks, haggis and other Scottish treats, an ice cream shop, vendors, artisans and a whole day of exciting activities for you!
Take the Millennial Line to the last stop to avoid parking problems. And keep your fingers crossed for a dry day!
