VanDPM Speaker Series - Event Modeling - Designing Modern Information Systems
Join tech agency owner and event modelling specialist Adam Dymitruk for our first talk of the year!
Date: Tues, Jan 28
Time: 5:30-7 pm
Location: Slalom Consulting: 355 Burrard St, Suite 700
Event Modeling is a technique to describe any information system without resorting to multiple or complex methodologies or diagrams. It is heavily based on Specification by Example and describes an entire system within its boundaries as defined in Systems Thinking. This is a great method for non-technical team members like Project Managers to be able to plan out entire systems prior to development.
In this session, the attendees will learn
- how Event Modeling works
- how to organize an Event Modeling workshop
- why the approach is highly successful
- how it applies to different size of projects
- how it replaces a number of other practices
- how it applies to traditional projects
- how it applies to legacy systems
More can be read about it on https://eventmodeling.org
Non-alchoholic beverages will be provided at the event. There will be an optional gathering for food and drink after the event at the Brass Fish Tavern.
Speaker: Adam Dymitruk
