Cancelled! Dinner and discussion - alternate weeks

Friends, we've decided to cancel all instances of this event for now given the low attendance to date. I'm retaining the original invitation language in case anyone would be interested in joining us at a later date. Please contact us if you have a discussion idea/venue in mind. Thank you.

Come join us for an evening of wide-ranging discussion. History, etymology, writing, science fiction, fantasy, current news, politics, metaphysics, religion/spirituality, cultural traditions, books, classic films--if you've thought about it, let's talk about it.

Bring your appetite for good food, drink, and convivial conversation. Bonus points if you love puns. More bonus points if you can suggest an affordable and transit-accessible restaurant venue for a future meetup. We're in this for the long haul, and we don't want to burst anyone's travel or food budget. There is no cover charge for this event.

Please note that our venue has changed from Helen's Grill to the IHOP at 200-950 West Broadway to accommodate more guests and a later start and end time, IHOP is open till 9 p.m., 7 days a week and is accessible via the #17, #9, and #99 bus routes; the closest SkyTrain stop is Broadway City Hall. Onsite parking is available, and the venue is wheelchair-accessible. Please be aware that gluten-free options--if they're available--may be highly restricted.
