Let's Paint Cherry Blossoms at Queen Elizabeth Park!
Details
We'll meet by a group of blossoming cherry trees popular with photographers, located near the bottom of the hill close to the parking lot off 33rd Ave.
From here, you can walk amongst the blossoming trees and spring flowers, down the stairs to the big quarry where a small stone bridge crosses a pond, or walk up and over the Japanese bridge to the Bloedell Conservatory at the top of the hill. From here, you can access wonderful views of Vancouver or walk down below the restaurant to the small rock quarry with another garden area, or to the duck pond below.
Let's paint for two hours and then meet back at the starting point at 3:00 pm to share our work.
Bring your painting or sketching supplies and perhaps a folding chair. All levels of expertise, from beginners to experienced painters are welcome. Remember to dress for the weather as it can still be chilly at this time of year. Currently, the forecast is for cloudy weather. We may be lucky with a bit of sunshine in the afternoon.
Parking: I have found free street parking in the residential area close to the tennis courts and pitch and putt. All the roads on the hill and within the park have metered parking, which is the same price as the big parking lot on the top of the hill and the two smaller parking lots just off 33rd, one near the cherry trees, the other near the tennis courts.

Washrooms: There are two public washrooms, one near the restaurant and the other by the Pitch and Put parking lot.
Meetup Fees donations
Just a friendly reminder that I am now accepting donations of between $5 to $20 to help cover the cost of the annual Meetup fees, which run between $550-$600 a year, depending on the US exchange rate. For more details, please see my recent Meetup email.
I look forward to seeing you by the cherry trees at Queen Elizabeth Park!
