Details

Note that I changed the location from Kits Beach due to the BMO Marathon this weekend with traffic closures from downtown to Fairview, Kitsilano and Point Grey.

Come paint at Kuno Japanese Gardens and Gary Point Park. There are wonderful views of the river, a breakwater, distinctive pine trees in the Japanese garden, or walk further along the park to where it meets the West Dyke.

Where to meet:
The Kuno Japanese Garden is at the south east corner of Garry Point Park, close to the SE corner of the main parking lot. It’s the last bit of the park before you walk towards Steveston. We’ll meet at 12 noon at the distinctive pine tree near the path in Kuno Gardens. See photo. We’ll go our separate ways to find a spot to sketch or paint, reconvening at the pine tree area at 3 pm to share our work.

Bring:
Bring any art supplies of your choice and perhaps a stool. Dress in layers in case of a breeze.

Meetup Fee Donations
Just a friendly reminder that I am now accepting donations of between $5 to $20 to help cover the cost of the annual Meetup fees, which run between $550-$600 a year, depending on the US exchange rate. So far, people have kindly donated a total of $240. For more details, please see my recent Meetup email. Please subscribe to receive emails and notifications.

New Facebook Page
I recently created a Facebook page for our group, with the same name, the “Vancouver En Plein Air Painters”. Please join the group or check out photos from all events since the very first meetup in April 2023!

Looking forward to seeing you there. If anyone would like to join me for a coffee afterwards, that would be fun!
