Indigenous Led Cedar Weaving Workshop with Moon Tide Reconciliation

Details
This hands-on cultural experience allows participants to weave a set of cedar coasters using traditional materials while learning about the teachings and significance of cedar harvesting, preparation, and use.
This event is in collaboration with the Everett Crowley Park Committee and Moon Tide Reconciliation, and is made possible by funding from the TD Park People Grant. Moon Tide Reconciliation's "mission is to facilitate reconciliation and create cultural safe spaces, with a focus on Indigenous cultures. We work to acknowledge and address the harm and trauma caused by past actions and events, and to build a more equitable and just future for all. Through education, understanding, and respect, we aim to create a world that is more understanding and accepting of all cultures. In particular, we are committed to creating safe spaces for our elders and Indigenous community members."
This event will take place at the Champlain Heights Community Centre.
Please pre register for this event. Only register if you intend to attend as our eco-art workshops are frequently 200% over subscribed!
