### 🩸🦸 If your dad was Omni-Man… what would you do? - Invincible discussion

Short summary
Invincible starts like a fun superhero story… and then it punches you in the mouth and says, “Nope - we’re doing this for real.”
It’s a show about power, loyalty, and the scary question underneath every superhero fantasy: what happens when the person who can protect you is also the person who can destroy you?
We’re not doing a “plot recap” night. This is a compare-notes night - the kind where you realize half the room hated Omni-Man, half the room felt weird sympathy, and everyone has a different theory about what the show is actually saying.
Come even if you watched it a while ago - I’ll reset the basics fast and keep it concrete.

What we’ll explore

  • That first “oh no” moment: when did you stop trusting Omni-Man? Was it instant… or did it creep in?
  • Mark’s trap: if being a good son and being a good person collide - what do you choose? And do you think Mark ever really had a choice?
  • Is the violence honest… or indulgent? Does the gore make the superhero genre feel more real, or does it start numbing you after a while?
  • “Heroes” as a brand: who controls the story - the heroes, the government, the PR machine, or the public? And what does the show seem to believe about propaganda?
  • Power without accountability: can a society stay human when some people are basically gods? What’s the point of laws if force decides everything?
  • The personal stuff: who feels most real to you - Eve, Amber, Debbie, Cecil, the Guardians? What relationship in the show actually hurt?

How we’ll do it

  • Quick hello + first round: “What scene are you still mad about?” (or still obsessed with)
  • 5-minute reset: where the story starts and what it’s testing
  • Open discussion, anchored in moments (scenes first, theories second)
  • Optional wrap: “What do you think Invincible is really about?” (one sentence)

What to watch

  • Ideally: Season 1 (so you’re not walking into spoilers blind).
  • If you’ve also watched later seasons, bring them - we’ll flag when we cross into bigger spoiler territory.
