Vancouver Fiction Writers

OUR MISSION:

Our goal is to establish a small group of serious writers in the fiction and speculative fiction arenas. We see the group as a kind of “think-tank,” where we hash over story ideas and concepts. The hope is to better our stories along the way.

Mystery

Fantasy

Fantasy Horror

Science Fiction

Science Fiction Horror

Speculative Fiction (departing from realism: futures, worlds, environments, science, characters or creatures unknown, implausible or impossible by current knowledge and understanding)

Historical Fiction (all kinds)

Dystopian

Apocalyptic & Post-Apocalyptic

OUR RULES:

1. Please have some idea of what you want to write about, even it you aren’t currently working on a story. We’ll help you with that.

2. Please answer the questions upon joining.

3. Be respectful to all members even if you don’t agree with them.

4. We meet twice a month. We'd like members to meet regularly if possible.

5. Please respond to the organizer if you’re asked about a meeting, cancellation or attendance.

6. Enjoy yourself!

4. You have to attend one meeting a month. This is a hard rule. We don’t want people to join that do not have any intention of meeting.
