Building High Scale Backend Systems

Details

Challenges in software engineering growing with user base and number of requests to engineering system. We would like to kick off 2023 with a talk about scalable architecture and solutions for backend systems.

Talk Synopsis

When a company grows with customers, it faces bottlenecks and performance degradation due to non-extensible architecture, hacks, and long-lived tech debts. Sometimes even forcing us to adopt a system redesign for scaling further.

We will discuss the learnings of building a high-scale backend system by leveraging event-driven systems along with critical components & best practices for production readiness.

More specifically, practices like rollbacks, timeouts, circuit breakers, observability, independent microservices, and better reliable tools.

Speaker Bio

Dinesh Kumar has 8+ years of experience in the tech industry. He has built the backend for cloud Security and managed Kafka clusters for billions of messages. Passionate about reliable systems. He actively mentors and guides teams on tech/scalability. He is an Organizer of Tech Communities & Go/distributed-systems enthusiasts.

See you soon,
Greg, Mike, and Yury
