Embracing A Security Mindset In A World That Demands New Features Faster

Details

Talk Synopsis

In this fireside chat with Ross Haleliuk, author of Venture in Security, a leading blog about the business side of cybersecurity, we will be discussing the evolution of responsibilities of software developers, changing the definition of “Done”, and the future that is likely going to expect that software engineers do more of security. We will touch on Waterfall and Agile delivery, have a look at quality assurance (QA) and how it has changed over the past several decades, and the reasons why software security is likely to follow suit. Ross is a product manager, so this won’t be the standard “Why developers must fix security issues as a priority” discussion. Instead, we will be talking about security in the context of reality that demands new features to be launched as fast as possible.
