December's meetup has a date. Come and join us for an evening of speeches, networking, eating and drinking!

Jim Munroe, executive director of Toronto's Hand Eye Society, is going to be speaking about his games Unmanned (http://unmanned.molleindustria.org) and Guilded Youth (http://nomediakings.org/guildedyouth/). Munroe is here in support of his indie lo-fi sci-fi movie which is screening at the Rio on Tuesday Dec 18, 7pm. See http://ghostswithshitjobs.com for the trailer & reviews from Wired and The Guardian. In the Q&A he'll be discussing the community-powered model that allowed him to make it for $4000.

DON'T BE AN RSVP SQUATTER!

Please don't just sign up to reserve a place and then fail to show up as this is unfair to other members. We've been seeing a lot of this going on. If you can't make it remember to change your RSVP so people on the waiting list can go instead. Thanks for being nice :-)

The meetup will kick off with 3 speakers and then transition into free-form networking.

Schedule:

  • Doors open at 6:30pm.
  • Speeches start at 7:00pm.
  • Networking begins around 7:30pm

Bring your games to the meetup! It's a great place to get feedback so bring along your laptop or mobile device and show off your hard work.

Please try to turn up and grab a name tag before the speeches start at 7pm so that you don't disturb the speakers mid-flow. Many thanks for your consideration!

See you at the meetup!
