PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING RSVP

  1. Anyone with adequate fitness may join. One of the objectives of this event is for fellow members of this group to meet each other and also chat about other potential activities of mutual interest in future. Personally, I will be happy to share about my past outdoor activities.
  2. This trail is rated by many as a "difficult hike", mostly due to the rocky stretches near the top which can be slippery when it rains. So, you must have proper footwear and be comfortable with the elevation and terrain.
  3. You may check the forecast but the plan is to hike, "come rain or shine". So, RSVP only if you are comfortable and equipped.

Route Information: we may do an out & back route or go on a longer loop (the group to discuss/decide at the trailhead). Info about the two route options is available here:

You'll be responsible for arranging your own transportation.
Hike Start time : 9:00AM from the Goldstream Park - day use area (we will meet in the Picnic area/shelter) and we are likely to be back to the starting place by 12:30PM.
About 3 - 6 KM return (depending on the route we select) with ~400m of elevation gain.
Moderate pace.
-----BASIC REQUIREMENTS-----
• You must be able to maintain a moderate hiking pace.
• You must have proper attire, footwear and any gear/items you may need for this hike.
• Bring layers, gloves, adequate amount of water and snacks/food (hot drink at the summit may be a good idea).
• Leave No Trace principles apply
• You are responsible for your own safety
• You must provide one current emergency contact name and phone #
• No pets

Note: Hikes of this meetup group are led by volunteers who may have no special training such as first aid, survival, etc. Participants are expected to be competent hikers who accept the risks and hazards associated with an outdoor activity, along with the regular use of rough and steep trails in isolated areas and adverse conditions.
