Join our online Japanese Short Story Book Club, designed for advanced Japanese learners who can read Japanese novels and share their impressions in Japanese. Each session, we read one short story by a Japanese author and share our thoughts --- all in Japanese!

However, I understand that it may be difficult to obtain Japanese books while living outside Japan. In that case, you are welcome to read the English translation of the assigned reading.

Below is information on both the Japanese and English editions of the book. The English edition should be available at most local libraries.

The assigned book for this session is 『お探し物は図書室まで』by Michiko Aoyama (English title : What you are looking for is in the library) . The book is composed of five short stories which are subtly interconnected. For this assignment, please read any one of the stories.

Please read the story before the meeting.
Discussion will be entirely in Japanese!

Format:
1. Brief introductions
2. Each person will share their thoughts on the novel.
3. Q&A / Free conversation time

Platform : zoom

Fee: Free

I look forward to reading and discussing with you!
