Implementing Microservices With Domain Events & Replacing MirrorMaker

Please join us for another Kafka meetup graciously hosted by BBTV! Tonight we'll be tackling two different topics:

1. Implementing microservices with domain events in Kafka
   We will talk about how we switched from a monolithic system to a micro-service approach. In order to make this possible, we needed a distributed messaging system that would allow different micro-services to communicate. The publish-subscriber, scalability and streaming capabilities of Kafka made it the tool of choice. We will cover how we implemented domain events, its benefits, and challenges.

2. Replacing MirrorMaker with Kafka Connect
   We'll briefly describe the evolution of MirrorMaker at Salesforce. This will include the scaling problems, fixes, tweaks and eventual full replacement using Kafka Connect. The talk will focus primarily on the solution's motivation and design.
