Anyone want to go see the June 30th screening of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair?
This is not just a regular rewatch. The Park Theatre is showing it in 70mm, and it’s the full Whole Bloody Affair presentation: Kill Bill Volume 1 and Volume 2 united into one unrated epic, with a classic intermission and a new / never-before-seen anime sequence listed by the venue.
That is exactly the kind of thing that feels worth seeing in a theatre instead of half-watching at home while your phone ruins your attention span.
It’s also Tuesday 2-for-1 tickets, so it works out to about $20 for both movies / the full presentation.
Long night. Big screen. 70mm. Uma Thurman revenge opera. Movie people, you know what to do.

A few things already sitting in my head

• “What changes when you watch both volumes as one giant movie instead of two separate films?”
• “Is Kill Bill pure style, or is there more emotional weight under the blood and coolness than people admit?”
• “What scene actually earns the theatre experience?”
• “Does the movie feel like homage, obsession, remix, or all of those at once?”
• “Is this Tarantino at his most fun, most excessive, or both?”

How the evening will go
We’ll meet at 6:00 PM near The Park Theatre, say hello, and get settled before doors open.
Doors open at 6:30 PM.
Movie starts at 7:00 PM.
The venue recommends arriving 20-30 minutes before showtime, so please do not cut this one close.
This is a very long screening - runtime listed as 275 minutes - so assume this is your whole Tuesday night.
Probably no formal post-film chat after because we may all emerge as different people near midnight. But we can talk before the movie and during intermission.
