đź“… Date: Saturday, July 5th
đź•• Time: 5:00 PM
📍 Location: Lovelarte Cafe
This month, we’re reading King Lear—a tragedy about a powerful ruler who gives up his crown, only to be torn apart by his own children, his pride, and the storm inside his mind. It’s one of Shakespeare’s most intense and emotionally devastating plays, full of madness, cruelty, and glimmers of wisdom.
At its core, King Lear is about what happens when power fades, when family turns on itself, and when truth can no longer be ignored. It’s Shakespeare at his bleakest—and most brilliant.
### 🔥 Discussion Prompts:
- Why does Lear misjudge his daughters so badly?
- Is madness in this play a kind of clarity?
- How does power corrupt—or reveal—each character’s true nature?
- What role does nature play in the emotional and literal storm?
- How does this compare to modern family dramas or political collapse stories?
