Kitchen Aide Volunteers or Office Administration Greeters: 411 Seniors

Volunteers are the backbone of 411. We place high importance on peer-led programming and we also welcome adults, seniors, students, young people, and loved ones to get involved as well! 411 Seniors values opportunities for intergenerational community-building and we are always looking for volunteers to get involved!

Kitchen Aide Volunteers:
4-12 hours / weekly, 6+ months preferred
As a Volunteer Kitchen Aide at 411 Seniors Centre Society, you will play a crucial role in preparing delicious and nutritious meals for various community events, or organizations in need. Your dedication and culinary skills will directly contribute to providing meals for individuals who may be experiencing homelessness, poverty, or other challenging circumstances. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about giving back to the community and making a positive impact through food. Volunteer hours 8:00 to 12:00 and 12:30 to 4PM.

Office Administration Greeters:
4-8 hours / weekly, Monday, Tuesday, & Friday long term (1+ year)
Volunteer Concierge responsibilities:
• Upholding 411’s policies and organizational values
• Being familiar with the 411’s programs and activities
• Following up 411 activities and programs constant updates
• Following the duties and procedures outlined
• Opening the door to visitors.
• Greeting visitors and ensure they get the help they require in a timely manner.
• Answering the phone, direct calls and take/record messages as needed.
• Checking voicemail and record the message in the log
• Programs and events registration
• Is actively involved in the day to day activities at the centre
• Check-in members for their programs and directing them to the corresponding area.
• Membership sales, and issuing of membership cards
• Model and maintain healthy boundaries
• Help staff with small administration tasks, when requested

The initial sign-up information will be posted in our Event Comments on Meetup, and will be conducted all online. All future events will be organized by the organization during and after your application process.

Volunteer Type, Application Steps, Length of Volunteering:
1. Medium-Term or Long-Term
2. Volunteer Application, Criminal Record Check (2-4 weeks), Organization Orientation
3. 6 months/4-12 hours weekly or 1 year/4-8 hours weekly (optional to continue longer)
