Short summary
This is exactly the kind of movie I love programming: a film that sounds calm and civilized on paper, then quietly turns into a brutal little social autopsy. (IMDB Rating 8.1)
A group of urban men go off to the forest looking for escape, freedom, novelty, maybe a little conquest - and what comes out instead is vanity, awkwardness, class tension, desire, and the kind of bad judgment people call “normal” until someone smarter is watching.
This is Satyajit Ray in one of his sharpest modes: humane, funny, merciless.
The plan
We’ll meet at The Cinematheque before the screening, watch together, then whoever wants can keep the night going nearby with a quick drink/tea and compare notes.
Why I think this one could be great in a room
Because this is the kind of film where everyone comes out annoyed by a different person - which is perfect discussion fuel.
