Group outing - free movie at the library, then optional drink / coffee after.

Short summary
This one looks way more fun than “free library movie night” makes it sound.

VPL is doing a National Canadian Film Day screening of Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie, and the setup is already enough to sell me:
two longtime friends / bandmates have spent over a decade trying to book one show at The Rivoli, and their latest stupidly ambitious plan accidentally sends them back in time.

That’s my kind of premise.

Apparently it’s not just for fans of the show either - it won TIFF’s People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award and made Canada’s Top Ten, which is a pretty strong sign that this thing has real momentum behind it.

So the plan is simple:
we meet on the 9th floor near the elevators, head in together, watch the movie, and if people are up for it, grab a drink or coffee after and compare notes.

Why I think this one is worth leaving the house for
- it’s free
- it sounds chaotic in the right way
- it’s Canadian without feeling like “support local” homework
- and it has that very specific energy of “this could either be brilliant or completely unhinged,” which is usually a good sign

This one might fill up on the library side, so if you end up on the waitlist, I’d still sign up anyway rather than writing it off. (Usually about half the people who sign up don't show up so if you get there in person, they probably will let you in at 6pm)
